SAMUEL OGLE (c. 1694-1752). Ogle was Proprietary Governor of Maryland in the mid-18th century.

A document signed “Sam: Ogle” as Proprietary Governor of Maryland: “…To the Sheriff of Queen Ann County Greeting We command you that the Several Acts of Assembly made the last Sessions at Annapolis the thirteenth day of March last herewith transmitted to you at your next County Court to publish in full Court hereof you are not to fail at your peril Witness Our Trusty and Well beloved Samuel Ogle Esq. Chan and Keeper of the Great Seal of Maryland this 14th day of June anno Dom 1733 Sam: Ogle”. There are various other signatures as well. In good condition with general and losses to the edges, as well as minor toning and some ink splotches. |
